About the Author
Dr. Katharine Brooks is a nationally recognized career counselor and coach who has helped college students and adults find meaningful careers for over 35 years. Focusing on career exploration, decision-making, and career development, she has specialized in services to gifted students and adults, including those with ADD, learning disabilities, or on the autism spectrum. She has managed career centers at Vanderbilt University, Wake Forest University, The University of Texas at Austin, and Dickinson College. Twice named “most visionary leader in career services,” she received the Kauffman award from the National Association for Colleges & Employers for her excellence in the profession. She is a strong advocate for the value of a liberal arts education in preparing individuals for all careers of the future, and holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology, a master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling, and a doctorate in educational/counseling psychology.
